Blueprint for success at Banff fest

TORONTO -- Blueprint Entertainment will receive the Lionsgate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award, given to an indie Canadian TV production company for entrepreneurial excellence, at the 29th Banff World Television Festival, which kicks off Sunday.

Blueprint develops, produces, packages and distributes half-hour and one-hour primetime and children's series, movies and miniseries. It is based in Toronto with an office in L.A.

Blueprint content includes comedy series "Kenny vs. Spenny," which airs on Showcase in Canada and Comedy Central in the U.S., and the mystery drama "Whistler."

The company's animated series "The Dating Guy," co-produced with Marblemedia, preems on Canada's Teletoon channel this fall.

Blueprint chairman and CEO John Morayniss and president Noreen Halpern will receive the award at a luncheon Monday.
