'Arn' comes top at Golden Bugs
'Living' wins three awards
Pic, which deals with a Swedish knight in the Crusades and is the most expensive film ever made in Scandinavia, won four awards, including the People’s Choice Award.
“Arn,” which opened on Christmas Day and has attracted close to 800,000 admissions, was not nominated in any of the major categories for the Golden Bugs except the People’s Choice, which it won with more than 60% of the votes. These were phoned in during the live broadcast of the ceremony.
The other big winner was Roy Andersson’s Cannes competish title “You the Living,” which won three of the major awards, including pic and director.
Of the three films that had most of the major nominations, “You the Living” won three awards and Johan Kling’s “Darling,” a dark comedy set during a freezing winter in Stockholm, won two. The Josef Fares helmed “Leo,” about the futility of revenge, was the big loser with several noms but no wins.
