BOSTON -- The Boston Society of Film Critics will hold the first awards ceremony in its 27-year history Jan. 20. Frank Langella, who was named best actor for his performance in "Starting out in the Evening," will accept the award. The program will include a screening of the film.

Several local honorees will also be feted, including Massachusetts Film Office honcho Nick Paleologos and Kaj Wilson, who is stepping down as curator of the Boston Jewish Film Festival.

The event will be held at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, which had previously partnered with the Boston critics on film series where members introduced the films. Tix are available for the event at brattlefilm.org.
